A new species of Isometrus Cave Ehrenberg 1828 by Myanmar (Scorpions: Buthidae)
Abstract
A new species belonging to the genus Isometrus Ehrenberg 1828, Subgenus Reddyanus Vachon, 1972, is described in Myanmar: Isometrus (Reddyanus) Alessandroi sp. n., which was collected in Saddan Cave, located in the state of Kayin, in the east of the country. In recent years, the number of new species added to both Subgenera Isometrus and Reddyanus has increased significantly. However, none of these descriptions referred to Myanmar. This particular geographical situation, as well as a combination of several morphological characteristics, led us to propose this new species here.
