- Write the simple terminology content, avoiding medical jargon.
EG: Replace pyrexia with fever
Replace high blood pressure hypertension
- WriYou in active voice, using a tone of conversation.
E.g: Replace “This medicine will be taken twice a day, before meals” with
‘Take this medicine before meals, twice a day’
- Mention the enlarged form of all abbreviations used.
- Always use consistent vocabulary. Choose a term, such as ‘Doctor’, ‘Health expert’ or ‘Medical care supplier’, and continue with him. The exchange of these terms can confuse readers
- Use personal pronouns (you, we) to establish a connection with the reader
