Abstract
We describe A new species of Wolf Snake in the genre Lycodon Fitzinger based on eight collected specimens from the Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China and the Sagaing region of Northern Myanmar (Burma). The new species, Lycodon Latifasciatus sp. nov.Previously it was confused with Lycodon Fasciatus Anderson and Lycodon Gongshan Vogel & Luo, but differs from each species by having a dorsal pattern that consists of transverse bands of brown brown and orange brown and a greater number of subcaudal scales (90-96). Phylogenetic analysis based on mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences (16S ribosomal RNA, cytochrome B and recombination activation gene 1) recovery Lycodon Latifasciatus sp. nov. As an external group well supported to a clado that contains five species: Lycodon fasciatus, Lycodon Gongshan, Lycodon Butleri Boulenger, L. Cavernicolo Grismer, Quah, Anuar, Muin, Wood & Nor, and L. Sidiki Wostl, Hamidy, Kurniawan and Smith. In addition, all members of that clado are distinguished by having non-corrected pairs that vary from 6.65-12.94% (based on cytochrome b sequences), and due to the lack of sharing haplotype based on nuclear DNA sequences (recombination activation gene 1). A networks with new molecular and morphological data of L. Gongshan It is provided, including the confirmation of recent records of the province of Sichuan, China and a new record of the state of Kachin, Myanmar.
