- Google Home is now implementing its new member role function.
- He was previously available for Google domestic users registered in the public view program.
- The role of members allows you to invite family members, including children under 13, as well as guests and roommates to administer specific devices or their entire smart home.
The access function for Google Home members is now widely implemented with version 3.3 of the application. The function facilitates sharing a device or a complete intelligent home with someone. Users can invite family members, including children, as well as guests and roommates, assigning the new member role.
The member role allows Google Home users to customize the amount of access they want to give someone. For example, you can alternate permissions to see the history of the device and home and revoke permits to completely manage your starting devices and automation.
Now you can also grant children under 13 years of limited access to their smart home. They can do things like control lights, play music and unlock doors. To enable this, the child must be part of his Google family group and add as a member. By default, permits to see the activity and change the configuration are deactivated for children’s accounts.
You can customize access and privileges for all others in your Google Home application. You can provide “administrator” access to partners and people who want your home to be administered jointly. Those who should only obtain limited access can be added as “members”, and can even more customize if they should have access to configuration or activity.
To add someone as a member or administer administrator access in your Google Home application, select your home and go to Configuration> Home & Access> Add> House Member.
