With Tahoe macOS, Apple has made a drastic improvement in the control center: now you can add, eliminate and reorganize its controls. This represents a significant change of the previous versions, where certain controls were permanently located in the control center, the options for adding controls were limited and the order could not be reorganized.
In this article, we will see how you can add controls, eliminate those you do not want and organize them in a way that makes sense to you. You can consult our MacOS Tahoe Superguide for more information and tutorials. Here we show you how to customize the control center in Macos Tahoe.

The edit control button

Before Tahoe, the control center was managed in the system configuration, and its options were basically to turn on or disable controls. That is no longer the case in Tahoe. Now, there is a Edit controls Button at the bottom of the control center. This button is the key to accessing the tools to manage the control center.
Now that you know where the configuration of the control center is, let’s see how to eliminate, add and reorganize the control center.
Remove controls from the control center

Apple includes a predetermined set of controls that believes are the most popular among users. There is a little space to add controls, but you can eliminate the controls you never use and create more space. For example, I never use Focus (which uses two slots; we will talk about the slots in the “Reorganize controls”) section, so I eliminated it.
To eliminate control, open the control center and click on the Edit controls button. You will see the icons ” -” appear in the controls of the control center. This is like deleting applications from the home screen on iOS; To remove control, click on the icon ” -” corresponding control.
Add controls to the control center

To add a control, click Edit controls. In the middle of the screen, you will see a gallery of controls that looks a lot like the Widgets gallery. Examine the gallery, and when you find a control you want, click on it. An emerging menu appears, asking if you want to add it to the control center or the menu bar. When choosing the control center, it is added to an available place.
Some controls have additional options for the menu bar. For example, the menu bar can now be added to the control center with options for Always show, Showeither Never show.
The control gallery offers only Apple controls. There is no option to add developer controls or third -party applications. With luck, that will change in a future update.
Reorganize controls at the control center

Foundry
To move the location of a control, click and drag it to the desired location. It is that simple.
To immerse a little more, let’s review how the design works. The control center is made up of 32 points in a rectangular grid. The controls occupy the points on the network, and how many points occupy the controls depends on their design. Some controls occupy only one place, while others are as large as four points, either as a square or horizontally.
When organizing their controls, you can place them as a puzzle, but you can leave the points open if you wish. You can reorganize them when you want.
