The exciting possibilities of virtual reality are more clearly with the recent launch of Google Earth VR.
As the name implies, this is an incredible way to see the earth throughout its glory through the use of a virtual reality headset on Google Earth.
This means that you can walk the streets anywhere on the planet, approach the mountains and basically explore the earth in the way that suits it. Google has packed in the 196.9 square miles of our beloved old blue planet, so there is a lot of variety to choose from.

If you are not sure where to start, Google has configured very well some great tours and destinations selected to start it. These include trips to Manhattan, the Grand Canyon and the powerful Amazon River.
Google Sky fans will feel disappointed that there is still no virtual reality version of this incredible application, but with Google Earth VR you can still fly to the edge of space and then look back to the planet under you.
It has been launched in Steam and is now available for free, so anyone with an HTC HTC compatible headset can get more information about the planet they live in this way. It will be launched on additional platforms in next year, they have told us.
