Ifixit today shared one of his traditional disassembly videos, disarming the new 16E iPhone to take a closer look at the internal components.

The ‌iphone 16E‌ has the same rapid release battery adhesive as the other iPhone 16 models, with the battery adhesive capable of freeing themselves using a low voltage electric charge.

An anterior disassembly revealed a 15.55 whh battery inside the ‌iphone 16e‌, which is larger than the 13.83 Wh. Ifixit says that Apple was able to place a larger battery in the ‌iphone 16E‌ because there is additional space available thanks to the rear camera of a single lens.

Ifixit’s disassembly gives us our closest aspect to Apple’s new c1 modem. It is at the bottom of the RF plate, and has the same package structure as the Qualcomm X71M modem, with a 4NM and dram modem. 7 Nm transceives are not found in the same package as the modem.

Ifixit was not impressed with some of the design decisions that Apple took, due to the difficulty of repair. To get to the USB-C port, for example, all internal components of the device must be eliminated. Even so, Ifixit said that the ‌iphone 16E‌ advances towards repair thanks to the reversal of the pairing of parts in iOS and small changes such as a metal support that protects a flexible cable of being cut when opening the device.
