Tired of digging through the so -called “hamburger” menus in the Plex Mobile application to obtain your personal Plex media library? If so, good news.
Plex is starting a public preview for its renewed Plex Mobile application, and for what I have seen so far, it offers welcome changes for those with personal libraries of Plex of films and television programs.
Among the best changes in the renewed application is what is no longer there: the “hamburger” menu of three lines in the upper corner that included everything, from the characteristics of Plex “Watchlist” and “Discover” to the transmission video with advertisements and, if you fall a little, your own plex libraries.
Now, you can jump directly to your personal plex media through the “Libraries” tab dedicated in lower navigation, which now also includes “live TV”, “on demand” and “discover” tabs.
The “trend”, the “activity”, “find friends” and “my profile” tabs that seemed designed to push users towards the growing and controversial and controversial enrollment of social characteristics of Plex. Social butterflies can still connect with other Plex users through the Discover tab and the “optimized” user menu.

The renewed Plex mobile application has a dedicated tab of “libraries” in lower navigation.
Plex
Plex also promises an “expanded” use of works of art within the new Plex mobile application, including the art of the title for films and television programs “where they are available.” That is a welcome change of the simple title text in the current detail pages.
The next redesign of Plex Mobile is part of a broader application strategy that Plex first announced in September.
This strategy includes turning music reproduction and photo management in separate applications, with music relegated to the Plexamp application (already existing), while the Plex Photos application is currently in Beta.
Behind the scene, Plex says that he is giving all his applications a code review from top to bottom, with the newly unified code base that leads, with torsion, faster updates on the platforms.
I still have to try the new Plex Mobile application for me, but as a Plex Media Server user who doesn’t care about a social, the Broad Strokes sound promising.
That said, in public subscription views, some key features are missing, Plex warns, including the reproduction list and media classification support. Plex says that he plans to “close those gaps” as the test process continues.
The new Plex application should arise from its state of view for “early” 2025, says Plex.
