Araneae) of Western Balkans

Abstract

In this study, we present new faunal data on spiders (Arachnida: Araneae) of Western Balkans. Our findings include the first records of six genres and 23 species for Kosovo: Micaria (2 species), Nomisia (2 species), Allagellena (1 species), Alopecosa (1 species), Ball (1 species), Cheiracanthium (1 species), Club (1 species), Dipoena (1 species), ENOPLOGNATHA (1 species), You areus (1 species), Hoplopholcus (1 species), Io (1 species), Mendoza (1 species), Mimeto (1 species), Myrmarachne (1 species), Talavera (1 species), Tendaria (1 species), TRCHOSA (1 species), Walckenaeria (1 species), Zodarion (2 species) and Zora (1 species). In addition, two genera and two species are recently registered for Albania. One species each is recently recorded for Serbia and Macedonia from the North. Photographs of the habitus and copulatory organs for all treated species, which support identification and taxonomic comparisons are provided.
