Aracanidae) collected from New Zealand

Abstract

A new Boxfish, Kentrocapros flavimaculatusIt is described on the basis of two collected samples of New Zealand. The new species is distinguished from all other species from Kentrocapros Through the following combination of characters: Many yellow spots on the side sides of the body, a different column in the middle of each dorsolateral crest of the shell, without thorns on the lateral and ventrolateral ridges, and the gill opening located below the posterior half of the eye.
