The decision to break music and photos outside the Plex Core application took many people by surprise, but it was not necessarily a “bad” idea. Its new application, which is available in some way on televisions and mobile devices, is designed to offer a more focused and modern transmission experience (plus a unified code basis for a faster and faster application development). Many customers saw the merits of an independent photos application. Even so, Plex’s announcement met a sea of complaints. Plexamp and the photos are not available on smart televisions, so if you use the Plex Core redesign application on a TV, it is effectively locked in these characteristics. There is also some rarity with musical video libraries (which are forced to Plexamp for some reason), among other problems.
