Genki Aegis Shield: Review
The Genki Aegis Shield has a rather sublime homonym. In ancient Greek mythology, Aegis sometimes refers to the shield of a deity, such as the god of thunder, Zeus, or the goddess of wisdom, Athena. It is, then, a word that symbolizes the protection of the highest order. And so, the Genki Aegis Shield arrives: a screen protector for the Nintendo Switch 2. Can you really offer divine protection levels? I tried it to find out.
Outside the box, many things was happening. He obtains two screen protectors, an application frame, screen wipes, a microfiber cloth and even a brush (excellent word, right?). The application frame is quite large compared to some others that I have used, and it was not the firmer around our switch 2, but it was still perfectly able to do the job. There is a lot of plastic here, with elements such as a D-Pad frame and a reproduction button recorded in the application tool.
The application was quite direct in general. The instructions were not as complete as I have seen in other models, but the steps are accompanied by images to support their installation. I just had to place the frame in the Nintendo Switch 2, remove a release tab, slide through the protector and remove the frame.
After a little action of Squeeee, I was able to remove all the air bubbles under the Aegis shield, ensuring a clean and well -aligned application.
At some angles, I could see some inconsistency on the left edge of the screen protector, but otherwise, the final result was quite discreet. Of course, you may not find this little hypo, but it is worth marking.
Then came the damage test, and Aegis’s shield nailed it. I tried to scrape a key in the protector, applying increasing pressure over time. But even when it presses quite strong, the key slid through the surface almost without resistance, and never left a single brand. Genki claims to have tried an exercise on the screen, so this should be able to resist all kinds of action.
One thing I picked up is that Aegis’s shield was quite prone to collecting obvious marks of fingerprints, even when I compared it to the Drand Prism 2.0 screen protector for Switch 2. However, everything that is needed is a quick cleaning with the microfiber fabric, and can throw those annoying marks.
Otherwise, this is a strong interpreter. When playing Mario de Mario KartThe protector did not inhibit the clarity of showing some. They did not darken, fog or discolored, which was very pleasant. When collecting the protector’s corners, he also remained comfortable in his place, so it is sure to say that it is a safe choice.
And when he considers that this model is only $ 19.99 / £ 17 / au $ 35, it is a great value for money. It is considerably cheaper than the Dbrand model I mentioned, and in the same baseball stadium than the impressive tempered glass screen protector Belkin that we tested during the batch tests.
Yes, the application frame may seem a bit exaggerated. I could see a small inconsistency on an edge of the screen, and you will notice digital footprints quite easily. But still, you get a clear screen and a lot of hardness at a reasonable price. Just for that, this is a model that is worth seeing.

How did I try the genki aegis shield
- The screen protector applied using the written instructions
- Tested its effect on the screen, the resistance of the digital footprints and how easy it is to damage
- Tested by a life player
For Genki Aegis Shield, I used the standardized techradar process to test Nintendo Switch 2. First, we apply the screen protector using the instructions included. Then, we tested the impact of the protector on the console screen evaluating aspects such as brightness and visualization angles.
After this, we tried how the surface faces digital footprints, before scratching the model with a set of keys and trying to peel at the edges. Ultimately, all this helps us judge the ease of application, durability and general construction quality.
But let’s talk about my experience. I have tried more than one hundred products in techradar, everything from games for games, such as Hori Piranha Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2, through other screen protectors, such as the DBRAND Prism 2.0.
In addition to that, I am a life player with a massive love for Nintendo. I have a switch 2 personally and I have reviewed several games for the platform, including Drag x and Raidou remastered: the mystery of the army without a soul.
