Meta announced that it began rolling out a major update to its AI smart glasses starting December 16.
According to your blog postThe v21 software aims to cancel noise and help users hear what is essential while eliminating unnecessary noise. But that’s not all, it will also give Meta AI the ability to suggest a song on Spotify based on your vibe and what you’re watching in real time. Great, huh?
Meta is implementing the “Conversation Focus” feature, introduced earlier this year in Meta Connect, exclusively for users who have registered in the early access program for RayBan Meta or Oakley Meta HSTN.
So whether you’re in a restaurant, on the subway, or even at a live music festival, this will ensure that the person you’re talking to is amplified. This “amplification” can be adjusted just like the volume, by sliding the right temple of the glasses or through the device settings, making it easy to adjust the volume levels depending on the environment you are in.
As for the Spotify feature, Meta says it’s the first “multi-modal” AI music experience, literally combining computer vision and recognition with music-suggesting Spotify personalization; For example, if you’re looking at an album cover or are at a local Christmas market, you can simply say “Hey Meta, play a song that matches this view.” This will ask you to play songs from Spotify based on your tastes or even create a playlist for that moment.
That said, the conversation focus feature is currently only available in the US and Canada. However, the Spotify AI music experience is available for early access users in Australia, Canada, India, the US, and several other countries. You can find the full list on his blog and subscribe to his Early access program too.
