We are almost a week of the Apple Glowime event that finally lifted the lid on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models, and many have been curious about how much RAM there is on each device.
Perhaps it is more interesting this year because Apple has previously mentioned a certain RAM threshold is the reason why the iPhone 16 can execute Apple intelligence characteristics, while the iPhone 15 cannot, but a new interview with the senior vice president of Apple hardware technologies, Johny Srouji, has confirmed the amount in each of the new phones.
Geekerwan spoke with Srouji (Thanks 9to5Mac), who explained the justification behind the packing of 8 GB of RAM in all iPhone 16 models.

Johny Srouji in 8 GB of iPhone Ram
“Our goal is to build the best products, providing the best absolute user experience. With regard to Apple’s intelligence, DRAM is an aspect. And when we look at what we are building, be it silicon, hardware or software, we do not want to be a waste in many ways,” explains Srouji.
“We have many data that tell us what will allow a certain characteristic, and Apple Intelligence is one of those very important characteristics that we want to enable.”
“And we observe different configurations, both for bandwidth and memory memory capacity. And then we do the right compensation and balance of what really makes more sense. Therefore, Apple’s intelligence was an important feature that made us believe that we need to reach 8GB.”
Srouji also points out how 8GB of RAM will help other facets of the iPhone experience, including “high -end games and AAA attenuated.”
He also extolled the virtues of Apple’s efficiency nuclei, pointing out the performance of a single subprocess throughout the Apple line.
“When you look at the unique performance core in all our silicon, it is the best in the industry. We are leading the industry. If you observe the efficiency nuclei, the same, we are in the best of the best. We are leading big.”
