For XR projects to be successful in large enterprises and across continents, robust IT systems must be implemented to reliably deliver the technology to users wherever they are.
For Volvo, implementing a device management app helped it expand its immersive training to workers in 80 different countries. “We can power applications virtually anywhere in the world,” he said Matthew Connorsowner of the XR digital product area, Volvo Group Digital & IT, Volvo Group. “We don’t have that many applications, there are probably about 22 applications (technical, sales; they have different use cases), but we can get them out almost immediately.”
Volvos has used about 300 Meta Quest 2 and 3 devices and relies on the management software TreeXRConnors said. “We can manage groups, indicate who has what device, where they are, if it is updated, if all the software is already installed, if they need to have the application configured. It has worked very well for us.”
