- This marks Samsung’s first wireless charging speed improvement in nearly six years across all Galaxy models.
Samsung Galaxy smartphones aren’t known for their charging capabilities, but a new leak suggests the Galaxy S26 Ultra could provide a big boost to both wired and wireless charging speeds on Samsung’s next-generation flagships.
Previous leaks have revealed that Samsung will finally give the top-tier Galaxy S26 Ultra a Significant charging upgrade, increasing wired charging speed from 45W to 60W. While this still won’t match the incredible speeds of the OnePlus 15 or Chinese flagships like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra or Oppo Find X9 Pro, it’s still a welcome improvement. Now, a new leak suggests that wireless charging speeds will also increase.
According to a report from a Korean media. ET News (through @Jukanlosreve in X), Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy S26 Ultra with fast wireless charging of up to 25W. The base Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus models are also expected to receive updates and will reportedly support up to 20W wireless charging.
Samsung could increase both wired and wireless speeds
Previously, all Galaxy models supported wireless charging up to 15W, but the report claims that all upcoming models will feature faster speeds next year. This would be the first time in almost six years that Samsung has improved wireless charging speeds, which would certainly be a welcome change.
There’s no word yet on whether the phones will support Qi2 charging speeds (delivering up to 25W maximum) or include a built-in magnetic ring similar to the Pixel 10 Series. However, since Samsung recently introduced its own MagSafe-style chargers, we’ll likely support both Qi2 magnets and faster charging.
A lot has been leaked about the Galaxy S26 series in recent weeks. The lineup was initially rumored to launch in February 2026, but a recent leak suggests it will arrive in late January. We also got our first look at the Galaxy S26 Plus after Samsung reportedly abandoned the Galaxy S26 Edge in favor of the Plus model due to weak sales of the S25 Edge.
A lot could still change before the official launch in about two months, but we’re finally starting to see the Galaxy S26 series take shape.
