Motorola typically reveals its next mid-range device around spring, and it looks like its design might have appeared online early.
An extensive leak about Motorola’s upcoming mid-range phone, the Moto G Stylus 2026, has emerged in a new report from Android Headlines. At first glance, the proposed renderings claim that next year’s stylus will look similar to Motorola’s design from 2025, as well as some of its other phones this year. The rear panel of the phone houses a square (rounded corner) camera array in the top left corner. Its corners, around its frame, remain quite soft and rounded for greater comfort in the hand.
Motorola is supposedly interested in equipping the phone with an “eco-leather” material on its back panel, instead of glass. This material is rolled over the camera housing for a perfect aesthetic.
The publication adds that the G Stylus 2026 could feature a triple camera setup, although the details of those lenses are unknown. When it comes to possible upgrades, rumors allege that you could see a battery of just over 5000 mAh. We can be hopeful about this, but it’s worth noting that the G Stylus has kept the same 5000 mAh battery. for the last two iterations. Charging power is expected to remain the same as in its 2025 version, as is its RAM/storage.
As far as colors are concerned, the Moto G Stylus 2026 supposedly maintains the same colorful back and frame design. The leaked renders show the phone in an alleged lavender and black option, both of which have the same color applied to its side rails. The leak focused on its potential power, suggesting that a mid-range Qualcomm chip could do the trick. If true, then we could see the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 applied to next year’s G Stylus, as well as a 6.7-inch display, but things are still early days.
The return of the stylus
Motorola recently expanded its mid-range lineup later this year, in November, when it launched the G 2026 and the G Play 2026. The former debuted with a 50MP camera and 30W charging power. The G Play took things a little further, opting for a 32MP camera and a 5200mAh battery. Each device was equipped with MediaTek 6300, a mid-range chip that offers pretty decent capabilities, good enough for everyday tasks.
They’ll probably have some difficulty with FPS in more intense mobile games, but they can get the job done in other areas. This is where Moto’s G Stylus tends to improve a bit, at least when it comes to the chip. The 2025 version included the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which was good for running games, but, as noted above, mid-range chips often falter slightly with more graphics-intensive games.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 was announced earlier this year and Qualcomm said the chip has been updated with an 11% faster CPU and 29% better graphics. Yeah Motorola is looking at this chip for its next Stylus, maybe it will hold up a little better.
