Netflix has teamed up with FIFA on a new soccer game that will coincide with next year’s World Cup.
The game, which was not given an official title, will connect to most compatible televisions and be able to play using your phone as a controller. The game’s developer, Santa Monica-based Delphi Interactive, said in Netflix’s statement that the goal is to make this “the most fun, accessible and global soccer game ever created.”
No further details about the title, such as game mechanics and release date, were provided. Netflix says more information will be revealed in 2026.
Notably, this marks the return of FIFA-branded video games after Electronic Arts. ended its long-term licensing agreement with the sports organization in 2022. This meant that following FIFA 23the EA Vancouver-developed series was renamed EA Sports FC for each subsequent entry. Meanwhile, Delphi’s untitled FIFA game will join a growing catalog of Netflix TV games, including Lego Party!, Tetris Time Warp, Dead Man’s Party: A game of knives and Pictionary: Game Night. These are separated from the more than 100 games that can be played through Netflix on mobile devices. All of these games are available at no additional cost to Netflix subscribers.
In addition to the games, Netflix has also partnered with FIFA to stream the 2027 and 2031 Women’s World Cups in Canada.
