Apple plans to announce several new features for phone messages and applications in iOS 26, according to BloombergMark Gurman.
In a long report that describes its expectations of WWDC 2025 today, Gurman said that the two main changes in the messages will be the ability to create surveys, as well as the option to establish a background image within a conversation.
9to5Mac He was the first to report that the messages would be winning surveys, allowing users to vote on questions and topics. It is a characteristic that has long existed in other popular messaging applications, such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Telegram.
The background images would add a personalized touch to the conversations, and Gurman said the images will automatically synchronize between Apple devices.
The new message characteristics must be extended to ipados 26 and macos 26.
For the phone application, Gurman said that iOS 26 will present a new view that combines favorite contacts, recent calls and voice mail in a single movable window. He said that this new design will be optional, with users capable of returning to the inherited interface.
iOS 26 and other software updates will be announced during the WWDC 2025 Keynote of Apple, which begins on Monday, June 9 at 10 am from the Pacific time.
