Microsoft is integrating the Video Premium Sora Video generator in Openai in its free Bing mobile application, providing users around the world accessing technology that normally costs $ 20 monthly.
The movement marks the first time Sora has been available without subscription. Previously, users needed chatgpt plus or pro memberships to access the advanced artificial intelligence (AI) video to video.
“Bing Video Creator represents our efforts to democratize the power of the generation of ia videos”, Microsoft said in his Monday announcement. “We believe that creativity must be effortlessly and accessible to help you satisfy your response search process.”
Users can now create five -second videos simply describing scenes in the Bing application. The tool generates clips in vertical format 9:16, perfect for social media platforms such as Tiktok and Instagram.
However, Microsoft’s generosity comes with strategic limitations. The videos have a 480p resolution and five seconds in length. Horizontal video support is still “soon.”

The service works in a two -level system. Users receive 10 “rapid” generations that process in seconds. After exhausting them, they must wait hours for the “standard” processing or redeem 100 Microsoft rewards by video.
These rewards come from the activities of the Microsoft ecosystem. Users earn five points per search for Bing, with a daily limit of 150 points. The system effectively encourages users to leave Google for the Microsoft search engine.
Microsoft Corporate Vice President Jordi Ribas Two years ago he emphasized the historical importance of social networks, noting that Bing was “the first product to send image creation for free.”
The tool includes security measures developed according to the principles of Microsoft responsible. Content moderation blocks potentially harmful indications, while the C2PA water brand identifies videos generated by AI.
The videos are stored within the application for 90 days and can be downloaded or shared on all platforms. Users can queue up to three generations simultaneously.
Microsoft’s strategy contrasts strongly with industry trends towards premium IA subscriptions. While competitors like I see Google 3 Require paid access, Microsoft uses Sora as a commitment tool to build its ecosystem.
The generation of ia videos has become increasingly competitive. Multiple companies now offer similar capabilities, reducing Sora’s early technological advantage.
The integration of desktop and co -pilots is promised “soon”, although the characteristic currently remains exclusive mobile. The service is launched worldwide, excluding China and Russia.
For casual creators and social media users, quality is sufficient despite the limitations. The Core Sora engine feeds free and premium versions, although Microsoft implementation lacks advanced controls, such as camera routes and extended durations.
This calculated movement positions Microsoft to capture users frustrated by the increase in AI costs while strengthening the Bing market position against Google’s domain.
