Immediately Bat, I let you know that this bed is not made of silk or snow. I would say that it is made with something even better: Latex. The sensation of latex can be difficult to identify, as I have heard in comparison with everything, from a thicker yoga or springboard carpet to even a water bed. The fact of the matter is that the latex has damping, relief of pressure and an inflatable sensation. It is also quite good to avoid heat and allergens, which is a victory for hot sleep and for those with allergies. With the organic mattress S&S, I wanted to see if this bed really was the intersection of these performance aspects, combined with an ecological construction. After a week of evidence, I have some people in mind that they would be main candidates for this bed.

The construction of the S&S organic mattress is ecological from top to bottom, with certifications to show it. The bed contains Gots (global organic textile standard), GOLS (global organic latex standard) and ecoinstitut materials. As a professional mattresses tester, I can verify that these are some of the best certifications you can obtain to support the organic claims of your product. The latex used is from Sri Lanka, the cotton of India, and even the coils come from Toronto, Canada, in an effort to limit the contamination of the shipment by maintaining this material in the continent. Eco-Institut certification guarantees that materials do not contain harmful substances or emit anything similar that is contradictory for their “organic” state.
Based on the firmness with which it goes, either the company, the medium or the luxurious company, the construction will vary slightly. I went with an average firm, which has a euro pillow lid. Silk & Snow affirms on its website that this particular firmness is intended for “back, back and combination of everyone around it”, to which I said: “Let’s see about that.”
The construction of the average firm comprises an organic cotton cover, organic padded wool, organic padded latex, a thicker organic latex layer and embolled coils. Now that you have the recipe, what does all this mean? Starting with the upper layers, the upper part of the pillow has an organic cotton cover certified by Gots, with a layer of wool below that is also certified, certified. Both materials are breathable and porous, so they are intended to maintain ambient temperature. Wool also resistant to fire, which means that no man -made barriers are used here.
The latex layers are perforated for air flow and pressure relief, and are of a firmer variety called Dunlop. This refers to how the latex was developed to feel, and there is a upper 0.8 -inch layer, a material barrier and then a 1.5 -inch layer for an advanced cushion. You have a material barrier to protect the latex, and the coils at the base are embolized for personalized support. They are reinforced right in the middle and around the edges, so the extra-symptoms helps with lumbar support and prevents it from flying on the edge while lying or sitting on the sides. To complete the protection, the lower part is another layer of wool to make the bed shoot.
Soft as …
The first night to try the S&S Organic, I got and was out of cold, which normally does not happen to me with mattresses. I felt that the surface of the bed gave a gentle setback, but not in a way that counteracted the relief of the pressure around my hips and shoulders. As the week progressed, I began to notice other advantages of the bed. It was very easy to move, giving me a little additional “thrust” if I changed sides. It was not a slope, but the construction of latex and bed coil makes the surface very receptive. Until now, I agreed with the evaluation at the end of Silk & Snow of this as a bedroom and combo accompanying mattress.
