We are likely to be about five months after the Galaxy S26 series, if Samsung adheres to its usual schedule in 2026, and the last filtration in these devices refers to a useful update that sounds useful to non -contact payments.
According to the South Korean exit Etnews (through Sammobile), Samsung will improve close field communication technology (NFC) on its next flagships, the protocol that drives payments in person on all modern smartphones.
Samsung plans to add a new NFC antenna just at the top of the phone, suggests the report, to go with the one next to the rear camera. That should mean that when you take advantage of, there are much less possibilities to lose the brand.
It would also put the Galaxy series along with recent iPhones, including iPhone 16. Apple phones already have this type of configuration in place, and in fact, Apple has several patents for technology, which Samsung has just been able to work.
No connection concerns
This may seem a rather lower update compared to components such as chips, batteries and cameras, but with contactless payments they become more popular worldwide, it will undoubtedly be a welcome improvement.
Mobile payments on current Samsung phones work well, most of the time, but the positioning of the unique NFC antenna can mean that a connection is sometimes not registered, which should no longer be the case of the Galaxy S26.
Of course, this is not yet official, until Samsung announces it. Other updates that we have heard are rumored for the Galaxy S26 series include increases in loading speeds and camera quality, while the EDGE model could completely replace the PLUS model next year.
