Apple’s iPhone 17 line has only been on sale for a few weeks, but attention is already turning to next year’s iPhone 18. And beyond that, another model is likely to follow. Except a new report claims it won’t be called iPhone 19 as you might expect.

Instead, Omdia chief researcher Heo Moo-yeol believes that Apple will skip the iPhone 19 name entirely. Instead, it will opt to call the device iPhone 20, as previously rumored.

The Omdia boss spoke at a conference in Seoul and ETNews reported that Apple has the iPhone 20 in its sights.

The move would see Apple move to a new release schedule that will see its entry-level iPhones launch in the first half of the year, followed by its high-end models in September.

It has been suggested that Apple intends to use the name iPhone 20 as a way to celebrate 20 years of the iPhone. It did something similar with the iPhone
