Apple One is so close to being an essential package service, so it is frustrating that you have not yet addressed these few outstanding problems to better serve all users.
Apple One’s model is defective
At the end of the 2010, a flood of Apple subscription services was launched, which led to the launch of the Apple one bunch.
It is a fairly good treatment, even if the price is walking regularly, if you want everything Apple has to offer at a reduced cost, including ICloud+, Apple TV+, Apple Music and Apple Arcade. Premium levels add Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+ along with more ICLOUD storage, in addition to the ability to share the service with up to five other people.
However, there is a rigidity in this model. Don’t you plan to play games in Arcade or use a different music transmission service? Do you need more storage but do not want+ and fitness+ news? If even slightly outside its pre -established levels, then it becomes a loss of value.
A customizable model would work better
The main way Apple could solve this is quite simple: allowing people to create personalized plans.
For example, suppose I want the individual base plan but I need 2 TB of Icloud storage. Letting me increase that element would be a beginning. At present, you can buy a second ICLOUD plan in addition to Apple One, but that defeats the fundamental purpose of the service.
In addition to this, users must be able to choose between subscription services. Let me change arcade by News+ at the individual level or release music completely from Premium. Cue any permutation of what can be applied to your needs.
The best model would be to have a single level where you choose your ICLOUD+ storage and a minimum of two or three services. The plan of the plan could be classified, so adding arcade would incur a lower additional load than physical aptitude+. In this way, users get what they want, and Apple still obtains the complete tariff with discount for each service used.
Let us add Applecare+
Curved absent from Apple One is AppleCare+, the company’s extended guarantee subscription service.
AppleCare+ implementation sounds like a nightmare in the first pass since it is linked to individual devices and has a different price depending on the device category. However, Apple could easily take advantage of subscriptions linked to an account and add them to the Apple One package.
I don’t even expect a discount here, but a way to maintain all my Apple subscriptions within a single position. This would be an added value even if Applecare+ does not discourage itself.
However, in the case that Apple wants to increase AppleCare+subscribers, a discount may not be a bad idea, especially for regions such as Australia that have great consumer protection. As the Editor of Geek, Tim Brookes said, “we have great consumer protection here, so it is basically a loss of money since a MacBook is expected to last more than the (also better) two -year guarantee.”
The only warning here is that Apple would still need to provide an easy way to choose not to participate in AppleCare+ on its own, although I imagine that such a characteristic would be sacred for a customizable model anyway.
Advantages and discounts seal the treatment
Finally, some advantages would help subscribers feel appreciated or even give them alone to subscribe. Some ideas that come to mind include early access to the new Intelligence characteristics of Apple (which would help Apple polish their AI before everyone spreads) or the first dibs in early orders.
They could also offer discounts to the store, similar to 10% Google One store discount in selected elements. Apple doesn’t even need to go so deep (3% that Apple card Users would be a good starting point) and could block the purchases of large tickets, but a way to save on accessories would greatly sweeten Apple One. Apple will benefit from this, since it would mean that customers use their store instead of retailers competitors
Ultimately, I would not even mind a slightly lower price cut if that meant that I could choose my ideal Apple One plan. Until then, mathematics and logistics do not justify me.
