Abstract
He has probably heard that the ocean is in trouble. One reason is that we are catching too many fish, which is bad for fish and the environment. But there is a great solution to that problem called Protected Marine Areas (MPA). These are special areas in the ocean where fishing is limited. This gives fish the opportunity to grow and prosper! But some people argue that they are not useful and hinder fishing. So is there any benefit of the MPA? To find out, we reviewed 81 articles from 37 countries. It turned out that MPA not only help fish but also fishing. Near most MPA, fishermen capture more and find larger fish. In addition, the MPA earns a lot of money through tourism!
