I will not lie, when I heard for the first time on the Google notebook, officially called NotebookIt is a new pilot program of AI, I thought it would be limited to using students and educators. Since then I have changed my mind. You could say that I My mentality changed.
So what is Notebooklm? Is it just another tool such as Chatgpt, Google Gemini, Meta.ai or Claude?
Yes and no.
Notebooklm works with Google’s Gemini Pro Language Model. But not only focuses on pre -existing language models per se. It is a work space trained in users of specific materials loading to build an intelligent assistant. It is a bit like Openai’s GPTSbut specifically designed as research assistant and notes.
In other words, the Google notebook organizes, analyzes and synthesizes information from specific sources they provide. It combines the power of large language models with content provided by the user to create a personalized research assistant. It allows users to load and interact with multiple sources of information, creating a personalized knowledge base for each project or “notebook”.
Users can load up to 50 sources per notebook, including Google Docs, Google Slides, PDFs, URL of websites and text files. Each source can have up to 500,000 words long, allowing extensive research materials.
Notebooklm creates general views, summaries, key topics and suggested questions based on loaded documents. You can also analyze graphics, images and diagrams within the sources.
Users can ask questions about their sources, and Notebooklm provides answers with online appointments, which are directly linked to the relevant sections of the original documents (a little wink to perplexity.
Notebooklm allows users to create, save and organize notes. You can transform the notes selected into contours, content table, study guides or summaries.
The notebooks can be shared with team members, which allows collaborative research and analysis.
Now here is something wild …
Notebooklm can even generate podcast -style discussions about the content, providing an information audio summary. Emulates a conversation between two hosts and it is, if you did not take nuances on the road, convincing … and fun!

I fed it in parts of the Mental displacement manuscript to see what I could do. And wow. Only wow. I left it by bicycle five times different, and each one was impressive and entertaining. I had difficulty choosing which one to maintain.

However, I imagine that, in any research project, it creates a fun audio content so that interested parties consume beyond covers, emails, meetings or reports.
