As the first clear objective of the DMA, Apple inevitably will be forced to increase prices, charge developers more for access to their developer tools, and I think simply stop selling some products and services in Europe, instead of threatening customer safety. We know that you can do this because you have done it before.
Fundamentally, of course, the big question still does not address: how much gain is it legitimate to obtain in any product or service? I imagine that the European Commission does not want to approach such a fundamental question for the extraction of capitalist wealth as that. Can you imagine the collapse in executive bonds that would follow the decision to define what should be the maximum benefit obtained in any commercial transaction?
The lobbyists of the entire political spectrum would be horrified, which additional profits pay for their meals. As for the extent to which the current application of the DMA seems to favor Apple’s greatest competitors, I cannot avoid imagining that it has already been paying for some European meals. Good job, if you can get it.
