After the smartphone market, OnePlus also made a silence in the audio space, thanks to constantly launching good headphones that nail the value proposition for money. The newest in the city is the OnePlus Nord Buds 3R, which, for INR 1,799, comes with 12.4 mm drivers, AAC codec and 54 hours of battery life.

OnePlus sent the Nord Buds 3R to try them, and this review will detail my experience when using them as my travel companion and gym, highlight their pros and cons, and help him make a wise purchase decision.

Summary

In INR 1,799, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3R are a decent torque of headphones. They are durable, easy to keep clean, they have a long battery life and sound very well. Combine that with characteristics such as the translation of AI, and the Nord Buds 3R is a good value for the headphones.

Design and comfort

OnePlus Nord Buds 3R Design 3R

If you remember and you loved the design of the previous Nord Buds 2R, I have some bad news. OnePlus had gone with the flat design of the upper box. Instead, 3R outbreaks have a pill -shaped case that seems interestingly utilitarian. You will see, when the brands opt for a pill -shaped box, it usually has rounded corners and a soft finish that mimics the airpods.

However, 3R outbreaks are totally different. The case has a pill shape, but the edges are chaflating, giving the outbreaks a different identity. The matte finish hides scratches and digital footprints, keeping the order ordered. While the size is larger than I wanted, I had no problems carrying outbreaks in my front pocket.

Another great annoyance is the lack of a physical pairing button, which makes the pairing with a new device much difficult. That said, the outbreaks admit multiple matches, so it would not be a problem after the first time.

OnePlus Nord Buds headphones design

Moving towards the headphones themselves, they present the design of a typical stem form with a matt coating, with which we are all familiar. The comfort was more or less at the point, since I could listen to music for long durations without getting tired. The IP 55 rating was also quite useful in the sessions of sweaty gymnastics.

Complementary controls and application

The controls are easy to spoil on the TWS headphones because they are difficult to implement. Fortunately, OnePlus has nailed the controls in Nord Buds 3R. A single touch in the left/right headset can reproduce or pause the music.

A double tap or triple can be configured to ride the next or the next track and activate the game mode on/off. You can use a long touch and support in any of the headphones to change the volume up and down.

All this is controlled with the Heymelody application, or the Bluetooth configuration if you have a OnePlus or Oppo device. The application is perfectly designed and easy to use for almost all. In addition, there are many characteristics. First, there is the 3D audio function, which places different music instruments that surround you to create a surround sound experience.

Then there is the Sound Master function, which includes three sound profiles as a standard, but also comes with a complete equalizer to allow prosumators to change the sound profile to their liking.

However, the most prominent characteristic is the translation of AI, which promises to relieve communication with people who speak a different language. In practice, that’s fine. I used the characteristic to translate between Hindi and English, and although he understood and translated with precision the spoken prayers slowly and with nuances, the conversation flow felt something uncomfortable.

However, on the positive side, the translation speed was quite fast, and I can see that this feature became useful with future updates.

Sound quality and ANC

Image of the outbreaks

The OnePlus Nord Buds 3R comes with titanized dynamic controllers of 12.4 mm, and the sound quality hits over its weight. During my tests, the sound firm was well balanced, with clear media and maximum even at high volumes. Of course, the bass was a bit blunt, but it did not bother me at all, since the general auditory experience was quite pleasant.

If you do not like the sound firm ready to use, there is a complete equalizer that gives you control over different aspects of music. With respect to the quality of the call, it was decent. I would not call it the best in strong environments, like a gym, where the other person fought to hear my voice. But leaving aside the toughest scenarios, I had no problems.

OnePlus has opted out of Anc with the Nord Buds 3R, and instead incorporated the Cancellation of AI noise for calls. While the lack of ANC was not a big problem in normal environments, I missed him when traveling in the subway.

Battery life

Thanks to the thick box, the battery life of OnePlus Nord Buds 3R is excellent. I obtained approximately 10 hours of battery with the same outbreaks. Combine that with the case, Nord Buds 3R can last up to 45 hours with a single load. But this is not all. The outbreaks also admit a fast charge, where 10 minutes of load give 8 hours of playback.

Should you buy the OnePlus Nord Buds 3R?

In INR 1,799, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3R Compete directly with the tastes of OPPO APPO BUDS 3 PRO. While the copo shoots get more points because they are useful, 3R outbreaks are more durable, easier to keep clean, they have a longer battery life and sound equally good. Combine that with exclusive characteristics such as AI translation, and Nord Buds 3R is a good value for money.
