Apple’s iPhone 17 will join the traditional cameras to shoot the tonight baseball game between the Tigers of Detroit and Boston’s red socks.
The baseball game will be broadcast on Apple TV Plus as part of the baseball line on Friday night of the transmission service. The iPhone is being used to cover the game of positions in the Phenway Park in Boston, including Casa de Casas, the Green monster (The nickname of the famous wall of the left field of the stadium) and one that will wander the stadium.

During the transmission, an overlap will be displayed when you see images of an iPhone 17 Pro instead of a traditional transmission camera. Apple says that the smallest footprint on iPhone 17 Pro should help provide “new angles and greater coverage” of the game.
The photos of the Pro-Equipada Chamber configuration for iPhone 17 show the phone inside a box with a neutral density filter on the three camera cameras. It is connected through USB-C to what seems to be the new Blackmagic Prodock to transfer the video to the transmission transmission.
It is not mentioned whether the iPhone 17 will transmit images through 5G networks or use the existing wired transmission infrastructure, but places like these are often where wireless suppliers establish their fastest millimeter wave networks.
