- YouTube is bringing the latest premium functions to more devices.
- Premium users are gaining improved audio, faster playback speeds and the ability to “jump” on smart televisions and game consoles.
- Automatic and image downloads are also reaching shorts for iOS users.
YouTube has just announced its LABS program, which will allow users to be the first to test the last experiments of the platform. But that is not the only news that the company shared today. It is also beginning to implement the latest premium functions for more devices.
I don’t want to lose my best Android authority?

Previously, you could only double the reproduction speed of any video you were watching. YouTube says Premium users can now adjust the speed (in increases 0.05) up to 4x. This was only available on Android and iOS (through YouTube.com/new), but now it is available for all premium members in Android, iOS and Web.
The next expansion introduces an improved audio for more premium users. Previously, this was only available in the YouTube music application and as a subscription experiment in the main application of YouTube. It is now completely available on Android and iOS, but “only for official music/premium music videos and art tracks.”
Then there is the “Jump Ahead” function, which is already available for Android, iOS and the Web. YouTube is now allowing payments users to access this function from their intelligent televisions and game consoles. This feature allows you to reach the meat from the video jumping to key moments.
YouTube also announced that it is expanding the benefits for shorts. IOS Premium users can now have their shorts automatically downloaded depending on their watch history. This feature was only available for Android Premium users and iOS users who opted for the experiment. Similarly, the image function in shorts for shorts opens completely to iOS after being exclusive to Android and experimenters in iOS.
