Instagram is testing a “disgust” button that can be used for comments, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, Confirmed today. The disgust button is designed to give people a “private” way to indicate that they do not feel good with a particular comment.
Mosseri says that the characteristic is only a test at the present time, but the goal is to “make the comments more friendly.” If the test goes well, the disgust signal could be integrated into the classification of comments to move the comments disseminated below in the comments section of an Instagram publication or reel.
There is no disgust count for publications, or the creator of publications or other commentators can see if a user has not liked a publication. They do not like an internal signal to users. In a statement to TechcrunchAn Instagram spokesman said the company is testing the function with a small number of users.
We are working on ways to help people better control their Instagram experience and what they are seeing in the application. We are testing a new button next to each comment on a reel or a food post so that people indicate in private that they do not feel good with that particular comment or find it relevant. We are testing this with a very small group of people to start. Later, we can also try the movement of these comments below in the comments section to help create a better experience.
Users who have access to the disgust function will see a downward -to -end -tip arrow to play, which is similar to the descending vote function used by Reddit.
