As seen in the numerous rumors and leaks that lead to Samsung’s unpacked event, there are not many changes in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 of this year compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 last year. The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is easily eclipsed by the smallest and most accessible, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which has received more notable improvements. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 of this year, focuses on the new Soc Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and a new hinge design destined to reduce the fold hole that is visible on the outgoing fold and flip models. I spent about an hour with Samsung’s last productivity power and here are my first impressions.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 brings many refinements of this type, which includes reducing the weight of the current 263g device to 253 g. When folding, the new device is now thinner by 2.4 mm. This is possible thanks to the new hinge design. Samsung states that, in addition to making the interior screen fold look less prominent, the hinge is also more durable for clashes when it falls. The new device also has an IPX8 rating as the previous model.
The samsung galaxy z fold 5 design seems very similar to the previous model despite packing a new hinge
The two halves of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 are now almost flat with each other when they fold, since there is only one minor gap and is not as evident as in the galaxy z fold 4. The reduced gap means that its general thickness when folding is also less, which makes the galaxy z fold 5 feel thinner and not as thick as the previous model.
During my short practical time with the device, I discovered that the hinge had the same resistance as the Galaxy Z Fold 4. is still rigid enough to stay at an angle of its choice and to use with the various software characteristics related to flex mode.
The rest of its design from the bevels around the 6.2 -inch HD+ dynamic amoled cover screen, to the 7.6 -inch internal qxga dynamic AMOLED panel, it seems very similar to the previous model. Both screens seem identical to the previous model, but the main screen has a higher maximum brightness of up to 1,750 nits, which is approximately 30 percent brighter than the previous generation. This should make outdoor visualization in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 much better than the previous model.
The fold on the main screen is still quite remarkable in the galaxy z fold 5
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform for Galaxy, which is a slightly personalized version of the standard processor. As with the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung states that the new chipset brings several notable improvements to phone performance, image quality and battery life.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is available in three storage variants, all of which come with 12 GB of RAM. There is a base model with 256 GB of storage, one with 512 GB of storage and a high -end model with 1 TB of storage. Samsung says that it has also included a larger steam cooling chamber that states that it will help provide sustained performance when playing demanding 3D games.
The gap between the two halves of the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 5 has been reduced but it still shows
The Samsung Galaxy Z fold 5 executes the SAMSUNG UI 5.1.1 with Android 13, and comes with some additional features and improvements. Now you can also open applications in floating windows that should help with multitasking. You can now use two fingers to copy and paste data between applications, keeping a finger in the element (in the application of the gallery) and using the other to access the second application. Samsung now also allows users to access four recent applications in their taskbar, located at the bottom of the main screen.
Like the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Hardware of the Chamber in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 also remains similar to its predecessor. There is a primary 50 megapixel camera, a 10 megapixel teleobjective camera with 3X optical zoom and an ultra -megapixel angle camera. The selfies are handled by two cameras: a 10 megapixel camera on the cover screen and a 4 megapixel camera under the folding screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 offers the same cameras as the previous model
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 works with a 4,400 mAh battery, which is the same as before. It can be loaded using a 25W cable, or wirelessly 15 W.
Samsung has also announced a revised pen for the Fold Galaxy 5. It is called the S Pen Fold edition and has a thinner design that is 40 percent thinner than the one used for the Ultra Galaxy S23. However, the phone does not have a dedicated silo for it, which means that it will have to be taken separately or with the optional folio box.
Unlike Galaxy Z Flip 5 smaller, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 updates can be described mainly as refinements. If they add to the general value of the phone and if it is worthy of an update about the already excellent galaxy z fold 4, it is something we know after having reviewed it.
